Having spent the past hour dithering between Wimbledon watching, work and this blog post, I am struggling to find more words than the six below. Welcome to The Hemingway Day…
Hide.
The wind disguised his skulking inside.
Thanks to The Daily Post for the photo prompt this week, here are some other photos of doors.
Nice! Did you see the Dustin Brown match yesterday? Incredible. Heather doing us so proud at the moment 🙂

I did indeed, what a match that was yesterday. What a shame about the result, but she still did us proud even though it wasn’t the ending we were all shouting for! Hopefully she’s one to watch. I’d love to get behind a British tennis player, I’m not a fan of moodypants Murray.

Yeah, I saw the writing on the wall as soon as she couldn’t win on deuce at 5-5 on Serena’s serve. Against anyone else, i really think Heather would have won. Serena is just an incredible competitor. Murray’s demeanour isn’t for everyone, but he is a wonderful shotmaker and has done a lot for British tennis. Do you play?

I’m a forever Federer fan, I just love his grace and poise… and his style of course. I do play a bit, not as often as I’d like but we live very close to a court so we’re lucky to be able to play when we find the time! Do you play?

I used to play county and represent the school. I really don’t play so much anymore. Most friends prefer football and the guys from my club aren’t so nice. The social nights fall on the same night as my poker league and started going to the gym anyhow.

It’s definitely a pretty and yet ethereal photo; and a great interpretation to the theme!

Thank you! Looking through my archives I had a lot of door shots, I think it’s something we’re naturally drawn to isn’t it?!

I like how you’ve used the word skulking here – with the particular image and all that it entails as well. Nicely done – in that Hemingway-ish way.

Thank you Ellespeth. I agonised for a moment about what word to use there, and when I thought of ‘skulking’ I knew I’d found the right term, so it’s nice to hear someone else thought so too 🙂
