Whispering tendrils tickled the lungs, making the most of their precious seconds before they were to be released back into the world.

With each tread of his hooves his branched horns swerved backwards, his mouth edged upwards, his lips parted and he let out a bellowing cry. He commanded attention from them with every mark he made in the mud. But the females remained silent, their backs turned and their bodies laid firmly on the ground.

Day 7 of Photography101 and the theme is ‘Landmark’.

I bent down and picked up a handful of sand. His stone eyes watched me as I let the grains fall through my fingers and into the black cylinder that had contained a fresh 35mm film cassette just seconds ago. I snapped the grey lid shut, and placed my very own piece of the Sahara in my pocket.
Swing.
Today’s prompt from photography101… ‘connect’.

My hair flew forwards as the wind drove against my body flying upwards. At the top we stopped for mere milliseconds, jolted by the sudden standstill, the palpable moments of weightlessness before we would go plunging towards the muddy ground.

In the middle of the city, amidst the murky river and the singing train tracks, the air smells of the dusty pages that render the space silent.
